Knowing when and how to engage in spaces that are not designed by you can be challenging. I bridge community stakeholders, businesses, and individuals through the art of communication to foster a holistic way of being. Listening to understand brings validations to all who engage in mental wealth building.

Life is about teachable moments.  My oldest daughter shared this with me and she is right. The lessons I have learned have turned into wisdom. Using the knowledge, I have obtained, to foster new experiences, I bring unique perspectives, and healing practices to bring awareness to your possibilities.

Being a Mother is the most rewarding experience I have had the pleasure of doing. I now use what I learned to upskill and reskill my talents as a Mother to empower others. I could not be this way without the help and support of my six children: Clarence, Amanda, Bryan, David, Ethan, and Faith. They are the reason for the season I am in…building a solid foundation for future generations.

TESTIMONIES

Yvonne Livingston is the embodiment of restorative justice and trauma informed care.  I am a professor at the UIC Law School.  I have been teaching law in Chicago since 1976 and founded our Clinic and Center on Fair Housing Law. Several years ago, I invited instructors from the UIC Department of Psychiatry and Medical School to lecture to my students about trauma informed care.  Yvonne came to the class and discussed trauma in her own life and community and how it could be treated.  Not only did she participate in that class, but she has also continued to participate in the class and in other meetings at UIC attempting to bring restorative practices to the community.  Yvonne is an informed and powerful advocate for individuals and communities that have been harmed by segregation and poverty.  My law students have learned from her, and each year they rank her among the most inspiring and motivating speakers they have encountered in the course.

TESTIMONY 3.jpg

I got an opportunity to know Yvonne Livingston during the pandemic of 2020. Yvonne emerged as a powerful inspiration in the realms of thought leadership, innovative community building, and social impact during a very difficult time for humanity. As an artist and owner of Chicago Happy Faces, I bring happiness to human beings who want to experience a new level of being using body paint. Our likeness in reframing the world using art to engage with fosters a healthy mindset. Her adept integration of the art of Black psychology into her way of being sets her apart as a trailblazer in advocating for holistic well-being and empowerment within marginalized communities. Livingston's visionary approach towards leveraging Black psychology as a transformative tool not only enriches her own existence but also serves as a beacon of hope for others navigating similar paths. Through her commitment to fostering social change and community resilience, she embodies the essence of creating meaningful impact through the intersection of art, psychology, and social justice.
